Resolution No. (5) of 2007 on determining the modality of the Foreign Liaison and International Cooperation Section Department and selecting its People’s Committee

General People’s Committee Decree No. (5) of 1375 FDP

on determining the modality of the Foreign Liaison and International Cooperation Section Department and selecting its People’s Committee

The General People’s Congress,

Upon review of:

  • Law No. (1) of 1375 FDP on the rules of procedure of the People’s Congresses and the People’s Committees;
  • Law No. (2) of 1396 FDP on organizing political and consular work, and the implementing regulations thereof;

has decreed:

Article (1)

The Foreign Liaison and International Cooperation Sector shall be managed by a general people’s committee, as follows:

  1. Secretary of the General People’s Committee for Foreign Liaison and International Cooperation
  2. Assistant Secretary of the General People’s Committee for Foreign Liaison and International Cooperation
  3. Secretary of African Union Affairs
  4. Secretary of Arab Affairs
  5. Secretary of Asian Affairs
  6. Secretary of European Affairs
  7. Secretary of the Affairs of the Americas
  8. Secretary of Migration and Diaspora Affairs

Article (2)

The secretary and assistant secretary of the General People’s Committee for Foreign Liaison and International Cooperation shall be selected by the General People’s Congress. The General People’s Committee shall name the members of the General People’s Committee for Foreign Liaison and International Cooperation in accordance with Article (1) of this Decree.

Article (3)

This Decree shall come into force on the date of its issue and shall be published in the Legal Register.
