amending Law No. (10) of 2014

on the election of the House of Representatives for the transitional period

The General National Congress

Upon review of:

• The Constitutional Declaration issued on 03/08/2011, and the amendments thereof;
• The rules of procedure of the General National Congress;
• Law No. (10) of 2014 on the election of the House of Representatives for the transitional period;
• The decisions of the General National Congress during its 186^th ordinary session held on Tuesday 29 Jumada al-Akhera 1435 AH corresponding to 29/04/2014 AD;

issued the following law:

Article (1)

The term “election centre” shall be replaced with “electoral district” wherever it occurs in Law No. (10) of 2014 on the election of the House of Representatives for the transitional period and its attached Table.

Article (2)

Article (15) of the law mentioned in Article (1) shall be amended as follows:

Within fifteen days from the voting date, each candidate shall submit a detailed statement to the HNEC that includes the total revenues acquired, the source and nature thereof, and any spending made therefrom on the electoral campaign.

Article (3)

A second paragraph shall be added to Article (21) of the aforementioned law as follows:

Any tie in votes shall be broken by drawing lots to determine the result of the elections.

Article (4)

This law shall enter into force from its date of issuance. It shall be published in the Official Gazette and the available media outlets. Any contrary provision shall be repealed.
