on preparing the handover ceremony

from the General National Congress to the House of Representatives

Upon review of:

  • The interim Constitutional Declaration issued on 3 August 2011 and the amendments thereof;
  • General National Congress Resolution No. (62) of 2013 on approving the amendment of the General National Congress rules of procedure;
  • Law No. (10) of 2014 on the election of the House of Representatives for the transitional period;
  • In preparation for the handover ceremony from the General National Congress to the future Libyan House of Representatives;

the following resolution was issued:

Article (1)

The Standing Committee on Debts stipulated by the rules of procedure of the General National Congress (GNC) shall oversee, prepare, and organise the handover ceremony from the General National Congress to the future House of Representatives. During the performance of its work, the Committee may resort to any experts and consultants it deems appropriate with regard to conventional political and parliamentary customs and protocols in this respect.

Article (2)

The head of the GNC Office shall form a technical committee from the competent departments to handle the organisation and preparation process of the handover ceremony referred to in the previous article in order to carry out the same in a decent and appropriate manner.

Article (3)

This resolution shall enter into force from its date of issuance. It shall be implemented by all the concerned parties, each within their mandate.
