establishing the Police College, amended by Decree No. (191) of 1372 FDP

The General People’s Committee,

Upon review of:

  • Law No. (1) of 1375 FDP on the rules of procedure of the People’s Congresses and the People’s Committees, and the implementing regulations thereof;
  • Law No. (10) of 1992 AD on issuing the Law on security and the police, and the implementing regulations thereof;
  • General People’s Committee Decree No. (51) of 1372 FDP on establishing the Police College, amended by Decree No. (191) of 1372 FDP;
  • General People’s Committee Decree No. (145) of 1374 FDP on reorganising the administrative unit of the General People’s Committee for Public Security;
  • The submission of the Secretary of the General People’s Committee for Public Security in Letter No. (16858) dated 15/10/1374 FDP;
  • Secretary of the General People’s Committee for Higher Education Letter No. (509) dated 19/12/1374 FDP;
  • The approval of the General People’s Committee in its first ordinary meeting of 1375 FDP;

has decreed:

Article (1)

Article (12) of Decree No. (51) of 1370 FDP, amended by the aforementioned Decree No. (191) of 1372 FDP, shall be amended to read as follows:

Article (12)

The Police College shall grant those who pass the final year exam a diploma called “a Baccalaureate in Law and Security Sciences” and shall be appointed to the rank of lieutenant with two years seniority.

Article (2)

Students currently studying at the stages after the first year at the College shall be treated in accordance with the decrees and regulations in force prior to the date this Decree enters into force.

Article (3)

The College’s curriculum shall be amended to be in line with the provisions of Article (1) of this Decree and shall be approved by the General People’s Committee for Higher Education.

Article (4)

Any provision that conflicts with those of this Decree shall be repealed.

Article (5)

This Decree shall enter into force on the date of its issuance. It shall be implemented by the competent bodies and published in the Procedures Register.
