on adopting certain provisions on the

General Authority for Industrial Areas

The Cabinet,

Upon review of:

  • The Constitutional Declaration and amendments thereto;
  • The Law of the Financial System of the State, and the budget, accounts, and stores regulations and amendments thereto;
  • Law No. (22) of 1989 AD on industrial organisation and the implementing regulations thereof;
  • Law No. (12) of 2010 AD on issuing the Labour Relations Law and the implementing regulations thereof;
  • National Transitional Council Resolution No. (174) of 2011 AD on determining the structure of the transitional government and amendments thereto;
  • National Transitional Council Resolution No. (184) of 2011 AD on approving the transitional government;
  • General People’s Committee (formerly) Decree No. (146) of 2006 AD on establishing the General Authority for Industrial Areas;
  • General People’s Committee (formerly) Decree No. (407) of 2010 AD on approving the regulations organising the General Authority for Industrial Areas;
  • Cabinet Decree No. (25) of 2012 AD organising the administrative unit of the Ministry of Industry and approving certain regulations;
  • The submission of the Minister of Industry in Letter No. (1132) dated 20/03/2012 AD;
  • The decrees of the Cabinet in its fifteenth ordinary meeting of 2012 AD;

has decreed:

Article (1)

The General Authority for Industrial Areas shall be managed by an administrative board composed of a chairman and six members. The board shall be formed under a decree issued by the Minister of Industry and shall have a renewable term of four years.

Article (2)

The Authority shall have a general director named under a decree issued by the Minister of Industry, based on a proposal from the administrative board.

Article (3)

The Minister of Industry shall specify the duties and competencies of the board chairman and the general director, in accordance with the legislation in force.

Article (4)

This Decree shall enter into force on the date of its issue and any provision that conflicts herewith shall be repealed. The concerned bodies shall implement this Decree and it shall be published in the Official Gazette.
