adding a provision to General People’s Committee Decree No. (368) of 1992 on the executive regulation of Law No. (12) of 1991 on the rights and benefits of military personnel and civilians who lose their lives in the line of duty

The General People’s Committee

Upon review of:

  • Law No. (12) of 1991 on the rights and benefits of military personnel and civilians who lose their lives in the line of duty;
  • General People’s Committee Decree No. (368) of 1992 on the executive regulation of Law No. (12) of 1991 on the rights and benefits of military personnel and civilians who lose their lives in the line of duty.
  • Based on Letter No. (L. P. D. 49/8) dated 14/01/1994 of the Secretary of the interim General People’s Committee for Defence;
  • And on Letter No. (5/31/3897) dated 19 Dhu al-Qaada, corresponding to 19/04/1424 FBP, of the secretary of the General People’s Committee for Justice and Public Security.

has decreed:

Article (1)

The new following paragraph shall be added to Article (2) of the aforementioned General People’s Committee Decree No. (368) of 1992:

“With regard to personnel subject to the provisions of military laws, the military units to which the martyr of duty is subordinate shall investigate the death incident itself and take all the measures stipulated in the first paragraph of this Article. They may request the competent police station to do so.”

Article (2)

This decree shall enter into force from its date of issuance.
