on reinstating the positions of Prosecutor General and Advocate-General

The General People’s Congress

• In execution of the resolutions adopted by Basic People’s Congresses in their ordinary session of 1401 FDP corresponding to 1992 AD, and formulated by the General Forum of People’s Congresses, People’s Committees, syndicates, unions and professional associations (General People’s Congress) during its ordinary session for the period of 12- 22 Dhu al-Hijja 1401 FDP, corresponding to 13-23 June 1992 AD;
• Upon review of the Justice System Law issued by Law No. (51) of 1976;
• The Penal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure;
• Law No. (8) of 1983 amending provisions of the Justice System Law;

formulated the following law:

Article (1)

The positions of Prosecutor General and Advocate-General shall be reinstated by virtue of the provisions of this law. They shall be entrusted with the competences stipulated for the Prosecutor General and Advocate-General wherever they appear in the legislation in force.

Article (2)

The aforementioned Law No. (8) of 1983 shall be repealed. Any provision that contravenes the provisions hereof shall be repealed.

Article (3)

This law shall be published in the Official Gazette and it shall enter into force from its date of publication.
