on withdrawing confidence from the prime minister of the interim government

The General National Congress

Upon review of:

• The Constitutional Declaration issued on 3 August 2011, and the amendments thereof;
• The rules of procedure of the General National Congress;
• General National Congress Resolution No. (9) of 2012 on the appointment of the prime minister and mandating him to form the interim government;
• General National Congress Resolution No. (10) of 2012 on granting the interim government the vote of confidence;
• The conclusions of the 175^th ordinary session of the General National Congress held on Tuesday 11/03/2014;

issued the following resolution :

Article (1)

Confidence shall be withdrawn from Mr Ali Zeidan Mohammed, Prime Minister of the interim government. Mr Abdullah Abdel Rahman al-Thani, Minister of Defence, shall be commissioned to preside over the government. The caretaker government shall remain in effect until the appointment of a new prime minister by a majority of one hundred and twenty votes within a period of two weeks.

Article (2)

The provisions of this resolution shall enter into force from its date of issuance. The present resolution shall be published in the Official Gazette and available media outlets and it shall be implemented by all the concerned entities, each within its mandate.
