On Dissolution of the Anti-Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Agency

The Cabinet

Upon review of:

  • The Constitutional Declaration and its amendments;
  • The Law of the Financial System of the State of Libya, and budget, accounting and inventories regulation and amendments;
  • Law No. (7) of 1990 on narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances;
  • Law No. (10) of 1992 issuing the Security and Police Law and its executive regulation;
  • Law No. (12) of 2010 issuing the Labour Relations Law and its executive regulation;
  • Interim National Transitional Council (NTC) Decree No. (174) of 2011 on determining the structure of the government;
  • NTC Decree No. (184) of 2011 on adopting the transitional government;
  • Former General People’s Committee Decree No. (114) of 2006 on the establishment of the Anti-Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Agency;
  • The proposal of the Minister of Interior;
  • The Cabinet’s decision during its fifth regular session of 2012;

has decreed:

Article (1)

The Anti-Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Agency shall be dissolved and it shall cease practicing any activities. Its assets, balances, powers, and personnel shall be transferred to the Ministry of the Interior, which shall take the necessary measures to implement the provisions of this Decree.

Article (2)

This Decree shall enter into force from its date of issuance. Any contrary article shall be repealed. The concerned entities shall implement this decree and it shall be published in the Official Gazette.
