Resolution No. (38) of 2014
on appointing a prime minister for the interim government
The General National Congress
Upon review of:
- The Constitutional Declaration issued on 3 August 2011, and the amendments thereof;
- The rules of procedure of the General National Congress;
- The General National Congress Resolution No. (23) of 2014 on withdrawing confidence from the prime minister of the interim government;
- The voting results of the General National Congress one hundred and eighty-seventh ordinary session held on Sunday 5 Rajab 1435 AH corresponding to 04/05/2014 AD;
issued the following resolution :
Article (1)
Mr Ahmed Omar Maiteeq shall be appointed Prime Minister of the interim government. He shall form his government and present a motion of confidence to the General National Congress (GNC) within fifteen days at most from the issuance hereof.
Article (2)
This resolution shall enter into force from its date of issuance. It shall be published in the Official Gazette and the available media outlets. Any contrary provision shall be repealed. The present resolution shall be implemented by all the concerned entities.
