Decree No. (79) of 2010 AD

on assigning duties to the Atomic Energy Establishment

Upon review of:

  • Law No. (1) of 1375 FDP on the rules of procedure of the People’s Congresses and the People’s Committees, and the implementing regulations thereof;
  • Law No. (2) of 1971 AD on mines and quarries and the implementing regulations thereof;
  • Law No. (54) of 1973 AD establishing the Atomic Energy Establishment and amendments thereto;
  • General People’s Committee Decree No. (161) of 1375 FDP establishing the National Mining Corporation;
  • General People’s Committee Decree No. (449) of 1376 FDP approving certain provisions on the National Atomic Energy Establishment;
  • General People’s Committee Decree No. (509) of 1376 FDP transferring certain centres and projects to the National Atomic Energy Establishment;
  • Based on the National Atomic Energy Establishment Administrative Board Secretary’s Letter No. (63) dated 02/02/2010 AD;
  • The approval of the General People’s Committee in its fifth ordinary meeting of 1378 FDP;

has decreed:

Article (1)

The Atomic Energy Establishment shall be assigned the following duties: perform and supervise underground geophysical surveys (magnetic, gravitational, and radiological) including finding magnetic inclination, overall magnetic force, and the like. The Establishment shall issue licenses in this regard and contribute to establishing technical specifications, in coordination with the National Centre for Standardisation and Metrology.

Article (2)

This Decree shall enter into force on the date of its issue and shall be implemented by the competent bodies.
