Resolution No. (29) of 2014

on calling the Constitutional Drafting Assembly to convene

The General National Congress

Upon review of:

• The Constitutional Declaration issued on 03/08/2011 and the amendments thereof;
• The rules of procedure of the General National Congress;
• Law No. (17) of 2013 on the election of the Constitutional Drafting Assembly;
• The voted output of the General National Congress’ 179^th ordinary session held on Tuesday 24 Jumada al-Awwal 1435 AH corresponding to 25/03/2014 AD;

issued the following resolution
:

Article (1)

The Constitutional Drafting Assembly shall be convoked to hold its first session on Tuesday 14 Jumada al-Thani 1435 AH corresponding to 14/04/2014 AD.

Article (2)

The meeting shall be held at the Constitutional Drafting Assembly’s headquarters in al-Bayda’.

Article (3)

The office director of the General National Congress and the Cabinet shall take the necessary measures to make the relevant arrangements.

Article (4)

This resolution shall enter into force from its date of issuance. It shall be published in the Official Gazette and the available media outlets, and it shall be implemented by the concerned entities, each within their mandate.
