on forming a committee and determining its functions

The Cabinet

Upon review of:

• The Constitutional Declaration and the amendment thereof;
• National Transitional Council Decree No. (184) of 2011 on adopting the transitional government;
• Cabinet Decree No. (101) of 2012 on adopting the organisational structure and competencies of the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal and Sea Wealth, and the organisation of its administrative unit;
• Minister of Agriculture, Animal and Sea Wealth Letter No. (297) of 22/03/2012;
• The decision of the Cabinet in its 15^th ordinary session of 2012;

has decreed:

Article (1)

A committee shall be formed, as follows:

1. Assistant Deputy Minister of Agriculture – Chairman
2. Assistant Deputy Minister of Health – Member
3. Assistant Deputy Minister of Interior – Member
4. Deputy Minister of Defence – Member
5. Deputy Minister of Housing and Facilities – Member

Article (2)

The committee formed by virtue of Article (1) of this decree shall be responsible for taking the necessary measures to combat foot-and-mouth disease cases. It shall specifically undertake the following:

• Control border ports of entry to reduce smuggling operations of animals infected with food-and-mouth disease to Libya in coordination with the Ministry of Interior.
• Support personnel in charge of quarantine at ports of entry, specifically land ports with Egypt, Chad, and Sudan, in order to activate the role of these quarantines.
• Provide all necessary means and methods for performing the tasks of veterinary quarantines as thoroughly as possible.

Article (3)

This decree shall enter into effect from its date of issuance. The competent bodies shall implement it.
