Decree No. (305) of 1988 AD on Amending Certain Provisions of the Decree Approving the Establishment of the National Petroleum Services Company

Upon review of:

● The Secretariat of the General People’s Congress Decree No. (10) of 79 AD

on the Reorganization of the National Oil Corporation;

● The General People’s Committee Decree Approving the Establishment of the National Petroleum Services Company issued on 12 Ramadan 1389 FDP, corresponding to 24/7/1986 AD; and

● The General People’s Committee Decree No. (158) of 1986 on Distributing the Functions of the Secretariat of Oil, and

● Based on the submission of the Secretary of the Management Committee of the National Oil Corporation in his letter dated 17 Ramadan 1397 FDP corresponding to 3/5/88 AD,

The General People’s Committee has decreed the following:

Article (1)

The name of the National Petroleum Services Company shall be amended to be “Al Sidra for Engineering and Oil Projects.”

Article (2)

The purposes for which Al Sidra for Engineering and Oil Projects was established are to execute projects and provide the necessary engineering services for oil companies operating in the Jamahiriya. This shall include all types of civil, mechanical and electrical construction, along with engineering works, annual overhauls, and assistance with general maintenance.

The Company may engage in any other business that is similar, auxiliary, complementary or attached to the main purpose thereof.

Article (3)

Any provision that is contrary to the provisions of this Decree shall be repealed.

Article (4)

This Decree shall enter into force as of the date of its issuance and shall be published in the official gazette.
