Decree No. (40) of 1994 on amending certain provisions of General People’s Decree No. (451) of 1423 FBP on defining incidental and temporary activities in the scope of application of the provisions of the Social Insurance Law

Decree No. (40) of 1425 FBP

on Amending Certain Provisions of the General People’s Committee

Decree No. (451) of 1423 FBP on identifying Casual

and Temporary Jobs within the Application Scope of the Social Security Law (*)[1]

 

The General People’s Committee,
Upon review of:

  • Labor Law No. (58) of 1970 AD;
  • Law No. (55) of 1976 on the Civil

Service;

  • Law No. (13) of 1980 AD on Social Security,

as amended; and

  • Law No. (15) of 1981 on the Salary System of National Workers

in the Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya;

 

has decreed the following:

 

Article (1)

The second paragraph of Article (3) of the General People’s Committee Decree No. (451) of 1423 FBP referenced above shall be amended to read as follows: 

“In all cases, the contract term may not exceed six months per financial year or the term specified for the completion of the temporary work.”

 

Article (2)

The following part shall be added to the Schedule of Casual and Temporary Jobs, enclosed with the General People’s Committee Decree referenced above: 

“Secretaries of the management committees and the commissioners working in public bodies, institutions and companies on full-time basis, provided that they are employed in such positions by a decree of the General People’s Committee.”

 

Article (3)

This Decree shall enter into force as of the beginning of the month following the date of its issuance, and shall be published in the official gazette.
