on banning the export of certain commodities

The General People’s Committee for Planning, Economy, and Trade

Upon review of:

  • Law No. (38) of 1968 on export;
  • Law No. (67) of 1972 on customs;
  • Law No. (2) of 1979 on economic crimes as amended by Law No. (9) of 1980;
  • General People’s Committee Decree No. (1207) of 1990 on provisions related to engaging in import and export activities and the decrees issued pursuant thereto;

has decreed:

Article (1)

The export of pepper, whether in its natural or ground state, shall be banned.

Article (2)

Any provision contrary to the provisions of this decree shall be repealed.

Article (3)

This decree shall enter into force from its date of issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
