Decree No. (599) of 1989 AD

on granting Libyan Arab fighters in the

1948 War of Palestine certain benefits

The General People’s Committee,

Upon review of:

• The Law of the Financial System of the State and amendments thereto;

• Law No. (59) of 1972 AD on the Jihad Fund and amendments thereto;

• The General People’s Committee Decree issued on 17 Jumada al-Awwal 1388 FDP, corresponding to 14/04/1979 AD, approving certain benefits for veterans;

• Based on Secretary of the Centre for the Study of the Jihad of Libyans against the Italian Invasion Letter No. 1/12/5003/89M dated 04/07/1989 AD;

has decreed:

Article (1)

Libyan Arab fighters who participated in the 1948 War of Palestine shall be granted the same benefits set for veterans under the aforementioned General People’s Committee Decree issued on 17 Jumada al-Awwal 1388 FDP, corresponding to 14/04/1979.

Article (2)

This Decree shall enter into force on the first day of the month following the issue date thereof.
