The Cabinet

Upon review of:

  • The Constitutional Declaration;
  • The Law of the Financial System of the State, and budget, accounts, and warehouse regulation, and the amendments thereof;
  • Law No. (12) of 2010 issuing the Labour Relations Law, and its executive regulation;
  • National Transitional Council Resolution No. (174) of 2011, on determining the structure of the government;
  • National Transitional Council Resolution No. (184) of 2011 on adopting the transitional government;
  • Former General People’s Committee Decree No. (124) of 2009 establishing the Department of Labour and Professional Training, and the amendments thereof;
  • Former General People’s Committee Decree No. (568) of 2010 establishing the Department of Public Service;
  • Based on the proposal of the Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation in his Letter No. (LR/173) dated 30/01/2012;
  • The decision of the Cabinet in its fifth ordinary session of 2012;

has decreed:

Article (1)

The following shall be dissolved:

  1. The Department of Labour
  2. The Department of Public Service

They shall cease performing any activity. Their assets, balances, competences and personnel shall revert to the Ministry of Labour and Rehabilitation. All obligations and rights of the two bodies shall also be transferred to the Ministry.

Article (2)

This decree shall enter into force from its date of issuance, and any contrary provision shall be repealed. It shall be published in the Official Gazette.
