On the Formation of the Popular Resistance Council in the Governorates

The Commander of the Popular Resistance,

·  Upon review of the Revolutionary Command Council Decree issued on 21 Sha’ban 1391 AH, corresponding to 11 October 1971 AD, with regard to the Popular Resistance System,

has decreed the following:

Article (1)

The Popular Resistance Council shall be formed in each governorate as follows:

1-   Governor………………………………………………… Chairman

2-   Secretary of the Arab Socialist Union

Committee in the Governorate………………………. Member

3-   Military Advisor in the Governorate……………….. Member

4-   Director of Security in the Governorate…………… Member

5-   Representatives of the relevant ministries………… Members

6-   Secretary of the Governorate………………………… Secretary to the Council

Article (2)

The Council may invite any person whose opinion is required at the Council’s discretion.

Article (3)

This Decree shall enter into force as of the issuance date thereof and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
