on the exemption of goods of Arab origin from customs duties

The General People’s Congress

Upon review of:

• The Declaration of the Establishment of the Authority of the People;
• Law No. (9) of 1984 on organising congresses;
• Law No. (67) of 1972 on issuing the customs law;
• The resolutions adopted by the General People’s Congresses in their second ordinary session of 1988, which were formulated by the General Forum of People’s Congresses and People’s Committees (General People’s Congress) in its fifteenth ordinary session of 1398 FDP corresponding to 1989 AD in the period between 25 Rajab 1398 FDP and 2 Shaaban 1398 FDP corresponding to between 2 March 1989 AD to 9 March 1989 AD.

drafted the following law:

Article (1)

Goods of Arab origin imported into the Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya shall be exempt from customs duties.

Article (2)

The General People’s Committee for the Treasury shall determine the conditions and regulations organising the exemption stipulated in the previous article.

Article (3)

This law shall enter into force from its date of issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
