amending Law No. (2) of 2001

on the organisation of political and consular work

The National Transitional Council

Upon review of:

• The Victory Declaration of the 17 February Revolution issued on 22 February 2011;
• The decision forming the Interim National Transitional Council and determining its powers;
• The rules of procedure of the National Transitional Council and its internal regulation;
• The Constitutional Declaration issued on 3 August 2011;
• Law No. (2) of 2001 on the organisation of political and consular work, and its executive regulation;
• The proposal of the Prime Minister;
• The outcome of the session of the National Transitional Council held on Sunday, 18/03/2012;

issued the following law:

Article (1)

Article (14), Paragraph (1) of Law No. (2) of 2001 on organising political and consular work shall be amended to the following text:

“All bodies shall be delegated for work abroad based on a decree by the Cabinet based on a proposal by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Financial comptrollers and their assistants shall be exempt therefrom, as they shall be delegated by a proposal by the Ministry of Finance.”

Article (2)

This law shall enter into force form its date of issuance, any contrary provision shall be repealed, and it shall be published in the Official Gazette.
