On Approving Results of the General National Congress Presidency Elections

The General National Congress

Upon review of:

• The Constitutional Declaration issued on 3 August 2011, and the amendments thereof;
• Law No. (4) of 2012 on the election of the General National Congress (GNC), and the amendments thereof;
• The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) Decision No. (102) of 2012 concerning the approval of the GNC elections results;
• The opening session of the GNC held on 8/82012;

has resolved:

Article (1)

Results of the elections of the president of the General National Congress (GNC) and his two deputies shall be approved at the first GNC session held on 09/08/2012 as follows:

Mr Dr Mohammed Youssef al-Magariaf President of the GNC

Mr Juma Ahmed Ateega First Vice-President of the GNC

Mr Dr Saleh Mohammed al-Makhzoum Second Vice-President of the GNC

Article (2)

This decision shall enter into force from its date of issuance. It shall be implemented by each party within their mandate, and published in the Official Gazette.
