General National Congress Resolution No. (2) of 1372 FDP

on assigning the administration of some sectors to General People’s Committees

and separating the justice sector from the general security sector

The General National Congress:

Upon review of:

  • Law No. (1) of 1369 FDP on People’s Congresses and People’s Committees and the executive regulation thereof;
  • General National Congress Resolution No. (2) of 1430 FBP determining the sectors to be administered by General People’s Committees and deciding on some procedures related to the implications thereof and its amendments;

issued the following resolution:

Article (1)

First: The below-mentioned sectors shall be administered by General People’s Committees:

  1. The culture sector, administered by a General People’s Committee called the General People’s Committee for Culture.
  2. The energy sector, administered by a General People’s Committee called the General People’s Committee for Energy.
  3. The sector of youth and mass sports, administered by a General People’s Committee called the General People’s Committee for Youth and Popular Sports.
  4. The sector of the labour force, training, and employment, administered by a General People’s Committee called the General People’s Committee for the Labour Force, Training, and Employment.

Second: The judiciary sector shall be separated from the general security sector, and both sectors shall be administered by two General People’s Committees: the first shall be called the General People’s Committee for Justice and the second the General People’s Committee for General Security.

Article (2)

This resolution shall enter into force from its date of issuance and shall be published in the Legal Register and various media outlets.
