on resuming the election process in some electoral districts and polling centres

The General National Congress:

Upon review of:

• The interim Constitutional Declaration issued on 3 August 2011 and the amendments thereof;
• The bylaws of the General National Congress;
• Law No. (8) of 2013 on the establishment of the High National Elections Commission;
• Law No. (17) of 2013 on the election of the Constitutional Drafting Assembly;
• Law No. (28) of 2013 amending the Political Isolation Law;
• And based on the conclusions of the General National Congress in its ordinary meeting No. (178) held on Sunday 22 Jumada al-Awwal 1435 AH, corresponding to 23/03/2014 AD;

issued the following resolution:

Article (1)

The election process to elect the Constitutional Drafting Assembly in the electoral districts and polling centres where it was impossible to complete the elections on 20 and 26 February 2014 and whose results were cancelled in accordance with the same organisational regulations issued in this regard.

Article (2)

The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) shall set a date for the elections of the electoral districts and polling centres referred to in this law, and this date shall be approved by the General National Congress in accordance with the law.

Article (3)

The transitional government shall take the measures necessary to secure the elections and provide all the support necessary to hold them.
