Resolution No. (32) of 2014

on calling upon the High National Elections Commission

to initiate the election of the House of Representatives during the transitional period

The General National Congress

Upon review of:

• The Constitutional Declaration issued by the National Transitional Council on 3 Ramadan 1432 AH corresponding to 03/08/2011 and the amendments thereof;
• The rules of procedure of the General National Congress;
• Law No. (8) of 2013 on the Establishment of the High National Elections Commission;
• Law No. (13) of 2013 on administrative and political isolation, and the amendments thereof ;
• The General National Congress Resolution No. (40) of 2013 on designating the chairman and members of the High National Elections Commission;
• The conclusions of the General National Congress in its 182^nd ordinary session held on Tuesday 8 Jumada al-Akher 1435 AH corresponding to 08/04/2014 AD;

issued the following resolution:

Article (1)

The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) is invited to take the necessary practical measures to initiate the election of the House of Representatives (HoR) during the transition period in accordance with Law No. (8) of 2013 on the establishment of the High National Elections Commission and Law No. (10) of 2014 on the election of the aforementioned HoR.

Article (2)

The interim government shall take all the necessary procedures to secure the election process set forth in Article (1) herein.

Article (3)

The provisions of the present resolution shall enter into force from its date of issuance. It shall be published in the Official Gazette and the available media outlets. It shall be implemented by the concerned entities, each within their mandate.
