Resolution No. (6) of 2006 AD

on reorganising the General People’s Committee for the People’s Oversight and Inspection

The General People’s Congress,

Upon review of:

• Law No. (1) of 1369 FDP on the People’s Congresses and the People’s Committees, and the implementing regulations thereof;
• Law No. (1) of 1425 FBP reorganising the People’s Oversight and amendments thereto;
• Law No. (12) of 1371 FDP adding a provision to the aforementioned Law No. (1) of 1369 FDP;
• Law No. (13) of 1371 FDP approving certain provisions on the People’s Oversight and Inspection and cleansing;
• General People’s Committee Decree No. (10) of 1371 FDP on selecting two inspectors general for certain sectors;
• General People’s Committee Decree No. (5) of 1374 FDP on establishing the Financial Audit Authority;

has decreed:

Article (1)

The General People’s Committee for the People’s Oversight and Inspection shall be reorganised to assume the following:

1. Administrative oversight
2. Financial oversight
3. Technical Oversight
4. Food and Medicine Oversight
5. Public inspection
6. Investigation

Article (2)

The competencies assigned under the legislation in force related to the duties and bodies mentioned in Article (1) of this Decree shall be transferred to the General People’s Committee for the People’s Oversight and Inspection.

The workers at the competent technical oversight and investigation departments and matters and cases related to such competencies that are still under review by the abolished Financial and Technical Oversight Authority shall be transferred to the General People’s Committee for the People’s Oversight and Inspection.

Article (3)

This Decree shall come into force on the date of its issue and shall be published in the Legal Register.
