Resolution No. (87) of 2013

on implementing General National Congress Resolutions No. (27) and (53) of 2013 and subordinating the Libya Revolutionaries Operations Room to the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army

The General National Congress

Upon review of:

• The Interim Constitutional Declaration issued on 3 August 2011, and the amendments thereof;
• General National Congress Resolution No. (62) of 2013 on approving the amendment of the General National Congress’ rules of procedure;
• General National Congress Resolution No. (27) of 2013 on the evacuation of illegal armed groups from Tripoli;
• General National Congress Resolution No. (53) of 2013 on the tragic events that took place in Benghazi;
• The conclusions of the General National Congress in its one hundred and forty-first ordinary session held on Tuesday 12/11/2013;

issued the following law:

Article (1)

The interim government shall promptly implement General National Congress (GNC) Resolution No. (27) 0f 2013 on the evacuation of illegal armed groups from Tripoli and Resolution No. (53) of 2013 on integrating the revolutionaries and groups into the military and security institutions by 31 December 2013 at the latest.

Article (2)

The Libya Revolutionaries Operations Room (LROR) and all military groups shall be subordinated to the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army. The LROR shall be subject to all the regulations and legislation in force in accordance with the GNC Resolutions No. (27) and (53) of 2013.

Article (3)

The provisions of this resolution shall enter into force from its date of issuance, repealing any contrary provision. The resolution shall be implemented by all the concerned entities, each within their mandate, and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
