On the Amendment of Law No. (3) of 2012

Regarding the Establishment of the High National Elections Commission

The Interim National Transitional Council:

Upon review of:

• The Victory Statement of the 17 February Revolution issued on 22 February 2011;
• The interim Constitutional Declaration issued on 3/8/2011;
• The internal regulation concerning the activity of the Interim National Transitional Council (NTC);
• Law No. (3) of 2012 concerning the establishment of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), and the amendment thereof;
• The results of the NTC session held on Tuesday 2 Jumada al-Thani 1433 AH, corresponding to 24/4/2012 AD;

issued the following law:

Article (1)

Article (11) of Law No. (3) of 2012 regarding the establishment of the HNEC shall be amended as follows:

The Council’s meetings shall not be deemed valid unless seven of its members are present. Decisions thereof shall be taken by the majority of the members present.

Article (2)

This law shall enter into force from its date of issuance, and it shall be published in the Official Gazette.
