Resolution No. (73) of 2013

on assigning certain competences to the President of the General National Congress

The General National Congress

Upon review of:

• The Interim Constitutional Declaration issued on 3 August 2011, and the amendments thereof;
• General National Congress Resolution No. (62) of 2013 on approving the amendment of the General National Congress’ rules of procedure;
• The conclusions of the General National Congress in its 116^th ordinary session held on Monday 5 August 2013;

issued the following resolution :

Article (1)

The President of the General National Congress (GNC) shall be mandated to take the urgent and necessary measures to maintain security on all Libyan territory, end interregional conflicts and disagreements, heal rifts and stem sedition, apprehend criminals, and enforce the rule of law.

Article (2)

The provisions of this resolution shall enter into force from its date of issuance. Any contrary provision shall be repealed. This resolution shall be implemented by all the concerned entities and it shall be published in the Official Gazette.
