Law No. (16) of 2013

amending Law No. (13) of 1980

on social insurance

The General National Congress:

Upon review of:

• The Constitutional Declaration issued on 3 August 2011 and its amendments;
• The bylaws of the Interim National Transitional Council;
• Law No. (13) of 1980 on social insurance and its amendments;
• Law No. (1) of 2013 on the cancellation of usurious transactions;
• And based on the decision of the General National Congress in its session on Sunday 8 Shaaban 1434 AH, corresponding to 8 June 2013 AD;

issued the following law:

Article (1)

Article No. (46) of Law No. (13) of 1980 on social insurance shall be repealed.

Article (2)

Late penalties stipulated in Article No. (46) cancelled by virtue of the present law that have not yet been paid shall not be collected, even if final judicial rulings were issued in their regard.

Article (3)

This law shall enter into force from its date of issuance. Any contrary article shall be repealed and it shall be published in the Official Gazette.
