Upon review of:

  • The interim Constitutional Declaration issued on 03 August 2011 AD and amendments thereto;
  • The by-laws of the General National Congress;
  • Law No. (43) of 1974 AD issuing the law on the retirement of members of the military and amendments thereto;
  • Social Security Law No. (13) of 1980 AD and amendments thereto;
  • Law No. (33) of 2012 AD amending Law No. (6) of 1982 AD on reorganising the Supreme Court;
  • The conclusions of the General National Congress in its meeting held on 20/01/2013 AD;

issued following Law:

Article (1)

A new article numbered Article (21) bis shall be added to the aforementioned Social Security Law No. (13) of 1980 AD, whose text shall read as follows:

“If the salary of State workers increases, the pension of those workers who have retired shall increase by the same percentage corresponding to the worker’s grade at the time of retirement. For retirees whose pensions are based on presumed income, for pensions of retirees whose salaries were not subject to Law No. (15) of 1981 AD on salaries, and for retirees who have insurance pensions, such pensions shall be increased by the average of the minimum and maximum approved increase.”

Article (2)

This Law shall enter into force on the date of its issue and shall be published in the Official Gazette. Any provision that conflicts with this Law shall be repealed.
